A wonderful opportunity to appreciate the talent of this remarkable young artist prior to his appearances at the World Harp Congress, Amsterdam and in Paris.  Benjamin will be supported by Eleri Darkins, who will play the triple harp so dear to Lady Llanover's heart, as well as the concert harp in a duo performance with Benjamin of Russian virtuoso Andres Izmaylov's 'Toward the Sun'.

Eleri is newly returned from three years teaching at the prestigious Tamnak Prathom Centre in Bangkok.

Never touched a harp? Here’s your opportunity
Classes on Celtic Harp and Triple Harp, Exhibition and Concert

Experience the harp!

Whole day for complete beginners or those who want to
‘start in the middle’ or you could just come and listen.


Classes on the Celtic Harp
and Welsh Triple Harp


Relaxed atmosphere – Classes with Distinguished teachers
An introduction to the History of the Harp and a small exhibition of historical harps
Celtic harps will be provided for participants. Closing concert 4.40 p.m.

Price for the whole day £10.00 to include tea or coffee and inclusive of closing concert.

Lunch available mid-day, but must be ordered and paid for in advance.

Study Day
Lady Llanover: Friends and Influences

Cost: £12 per person (Lady Llanover Society Members) £15 (non members)
 
This event follows on from the successful study day held at the Priory Centre in 2002.

12.15   There will free time available from approximately 12.15 to enable you to have lunch in Abergavenny. An opportunity to see St Mary’s famous monuments.

3.15   Morfydd Owen: Lady Llanover, Maria Jane Williams and ‘Ancient National Airs of Gwent and Morganwg’
4.15   Tea/Coffee
4.45   A Concert for Lady Llanover: Ann Griffiths, Angharad Evans, Benjamin Creighton Griffiths with two triple harps and three concert harps

The Society is sponsoring the Lady Llanover Prize for the best instrumentalist under the age of 25. The 2005 winner was the Harpist Benjamin Creighton Griffiths.

11.00am Service in Llanover Chapel, Llanover with the Revd Herbert Hughes.

National Gardens Scheme

2.00-5.00pm Ty Uchaf Gardens open. 2-5pm in Aid of NGS, Extensive collection of Magnolias, spring bulbs & Camellias. Home made Teas. Welsh Folk Dancing performed by Gwerinwyr Gwent. Harpist Benjamin Creighton Griffiths, who The Lady Llanover Prize at the 2005 Abergavenny Eisteddfod will also perform. Entrance Fee in aid of NGS
